For my next Project I have decided to photograph British life from my perspective as a foreigner. The things that I found when I came here for the first time wish were odd and disturbing. Now, after 7 years of being here, I am reviewing and documenting Britishness. I feel now that I have stronger grasp of visual language, I can express the highs and lows of what I see.
All pictures are taken on my Iphone. I would like to answer a comment made by Maciej Dakowicz in a conversation with Sam Cornwell: “A photo taken with a Iphone is a wasted photo.”

I think this process is reminiscent of the first uses of camera equipment for documenting and research. But one could think that, like the old camera, this could be the next documentary tool.
For this set I am looking at places where people gather socially.

hiya i found your blog when i was searching for all things documentary photography at newpport. i was meant to start the course in 2009 but i have deferred my place until september this year. i am going to be living with holly and claire. i really like this post on the iphone and think it’s a really interesting approach to photography to look at. i’ve got an iphone and think i will start looking at it as a camera more now. i really like the colours and textures you’ve got in these photographs too.
